Mr. James Douglas ‘J.D.’ ‘Jadie’ Swann Sr. age 80, of Nashville, Tennessee, went to his heavenly home on Monday, March 14, 2022.
He was born December 7, 1941, to the late Harold Carney and Margaret Gant Swann of Springfield, TN.
He was also preceded in death by a son, James Douglas “Jay” Swann, Jr.; stepfather, Pat Boyles; sister, Barbara Faye Swann; brother, Randy Boyles; and grandson, Cody Sean Minatra.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 62 years, Betty Bolding Swann; daughters, Susan Minatra of Hendersonville and Bonita Swann Davis (Myron) of Murfreesboro; brother, Mike Swann (Peggy) of Goodlettsville; sister-in-law, Brenda Boyles of White House; grandchildren, Joshua Minatra, Tara Minatra Booker (Omari), Kynsey Davis Flynn (Chris), A.J. Ross, Myra Davis; and great-grandchildren, Cason Sean Minatra, Levi and Liam Flynn, and Easton Ross.
He grew up on a farm and graduated from White House High School. Before retiring in 1999, he was a data processing manager at CPS Industries in Franklin and was a computer analyst at Maremont Corporation in Brentwood. He was a member of Tusculum Hills Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
Funeral services will be held at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road, Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Paul Gunn officiating. Interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua and Barry Minatra, A.J. Ross, Myron Davis, Chris Flynn, and Mike Swann.
