Thomas Christian, Sr. was born to Herman, Sr., and Curry Christian on October 28, 1933 in Old Hickory, Tennessee.
He departed this life on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at St. Thomas Midtown in Nashville, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman, Sr. and Curry Christian; wives, Melissa Christian and Diane Christian; brothers, James, Herman, Ernest, and Harry Christian; sisters, Curry, Hazel, and Catherine Christian; sons, Melvin, Thomas, Jr., and Uther Christian, Kevin, and Michael Griffin; and daughter, Melinda Griffin.
Thomas Christian, Sr. worked for Reynolds Aluminum for 36 years, until he retired. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was a devoted member of Boyce Street Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board as President, Trustee, and taught Bible Study and Sunday School for many years.
Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching his favorite shows: Wheel of Fortune and Let’s Make a Deal. He also had a huge heart and love for the community. He never met a stranger or person that he would not help!
He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Michael (Louise) Christian, Lillian (James) French, Johnnie Christian, Andrew Christian, Joe Christian, John (Evita) Christian, Yvonne (Steve) Murphy, Shonta (Maurice) Pinson, Lakeisha Griffin, Anthony Griffin, and Edward Griffin, grandchildren, Shalon, Reggie, Thomasina, Sir Thomas, Trayc, Mio, SheMetria, Tyler, Anissa, Quinton, Sherissa, Johthany, Nichole, LaKrisha, Joel, Jayden, Sierra, Jade, Reggie, Mya, Desireé, Ashley, Beyoncé, Aakyra, Aalysa, Andrew Jr., Aubrey, Tevin, Chance, True, Shacola, William, and Alexandria, devoted brother, Charlie Christian; devoted sister, Bobbie Davis; sister-in-law, Yvonne Christian; daughters-in-law, Ava Christian and Brenda Christian; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; devoted friends, Geraldine Christian, Idela Manning; caretakers, Courtney Barnes and Gene Fountain, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends.
