Suzanne (Sunny) Shaw, age 85 passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Sunday, February 26, 2023.
Born June 2, 1937 to Edwin Arnold Sunstrom and Ludmilla Burger Sunstom in Evanston, IL.
She graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1959 and worked professionally as a teacher and later a bookseller and buyer until her retirement in 2007.
She is predeceased by her husband Keith Drummond and her three sisters, Jean Cain, Lois Sandhoffer, and Janet McGlaughlin.
She is survived by her daughters Tracy Mitchell (husband Stan) Whitney Blanton (husband Joe) and Kendall Glover, four grandsons, Charlie, Chance, Bailey, Sam and granddog, Janessa. Other survivors include her 9 nephews and nieces and many friends in her community and church.
While in the hospital Suzie reminded her daughter she was a “yellow dog democrat” She believed strongly in supporting and helping those in need, was a consummate hostess, great cook, expert stain remover, voracious reader and a rabid UT Vols fan with a sharp wit and a big heart. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
A memorial service will be held at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 6501 Pennywell Drive, Nashville, TN 37205 on April 1, 2023 at 11:30 am visitation one hour prior to the service
