A driver has died following Thursday’s 2:30 a.m. wrong-way crash on I-65 North near the Vietnam Veterans Boulevard exit.
Roger Roland, 54, of Lawrenceburg, was driving his Ford Ranger pickup truck south in the northbound lanes when he struck a semi head-on.
Roland died at the scene.
The 50-year-old driver of the semi was transported to Skyline Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
A wheel from the Ranger came off in the crash, bounced over the retaining wall and struck a Goodlettsville Police officer’s vehicle. The officer safely stopped and was not injured.
A blood sample from Roland will be tested to determine if impairment was a factor in this fatal crash.
