Sharon Stamps Goad

Our beloved mother, Sharon entered into God’s Kingdom on December 2, 2021, at age 69, after a long battle with breast cancer. She was one of the strongest and kindest women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her as the rock of our family.

Sharon graduated from Glencliff High School in 1970, where she was courted by her husband, Don. The high school sweethearts were married on April 3, 1971. She was Don’s faithful encourager during a 3-year service in the Army that included a deployment to Vietnam. They started their life as newlyweds in Fort Riley, KS where Don was stationed. After his final year of service, they returned to their home state of Nashville, TN to begin their family.

Sharon was a fiercely dedicated wife, mom, sister, aunt, and Nana. Family came first and was above all else to Sharon, a value she instilled in all those around her. The void left by her absence is one only God can fill.

In addition to being devoted to her family, Sharon also enjoyed sewing, knitting, ceramics, painting, gardening, bird watching, and spending time outdoors. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. Sharon was a member of Judson Baptist Church and was a committed prayer warrior for her family and friends.

Now that Sharon has passed into the arms of our Lord, we remind ourselves that she will continue to be the inspiration behind who we strive to be for the remainder of our time on earth. We will live in honor, not of what was lost, but of what was gained.

Survived by husband, Don Goad; daughters, Natalie Neumaier and Stephanie (Jon) Hathcock; grandchildren, Kole Neumaier, Abby Neumaier, Jessie Neumaier, Will Neumaier, Luke Hathcock, and Micah Hathcock; and sister, Sheila McElhaney.

Celebration of Life will be Monday, December 6, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Judson Baptist Church, 4900 Franklin Pike, Nashville, TN by Dr. Jon Hathcock. Interment Christ Church Memorial Gardens. Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to support the family of Kevin Cordell who recently passed away. Amy and their 3 children are family friends who would benefit from financial support due to incurred medical expenses.
