Roy Eugene Black of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, he was 91 years old.
Roy was born in Athens, AL. He retired from Bell South after 41 years of dedicated service. He also served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Through the years, Roy coached many little league teams leaving an impression for good in their lives. His greatest accomplishment was his love, loyalty and commitment to his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. Black and Norma D. Shockley Black.
Survived by his wife of 66 years, Bettye Black; daughter, Jennifer (Clark) Rowland; son, Mark (Sherri) Black; grandchildren, Alex (Sarah) Black, Andi (Jordan) Harris, Sam (Ally) Rowland, Austin Black and Jon Rowland; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted by his son, Mark Black and son-in-law, Clark Rowland on Monday, November 21, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. (visitation 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.) at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road.
