James Cleveland “Jimmy” McPherson, age 80, of Nashville, Tennessee, beloved Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, passed away on, November 18, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jimmy spent his early years in Madison, Tennessee. He attended and graduated Madison High School. He was in the High School band where he played the trumpet. While in High School he joined the National Guard. After High School, he married Eloise Christy Hurt and together they raised their two children in Hermitage, Tennessee.

Jimmy worked in graphic design and the printing industry his whole career. He eventually started his own company and ran it until he retired.

He loved working on cars and building hot rods. He was a member of the Tappets car club and later was a founding member of Nashville Street Rod Association. He spent many weekends taking his family on rod runs to different locations around Tennessee and the surrounding areas. His 1934 Ford Phaeton was named one of Hot Rod Magazines most Beautiful Cars at the 2017 Grand National Roadster Show. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

In later life, he loved having friends and family over for dinners and parties. He took great pride in his 19th century home. His door was always open to walk-in guests.

Jimmy is survived by his two children, Raymond McPherson (Shirley) and Christy McPherson-Petty (David); longtime friend and companion, Pat Punaro; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his sister, Bonnie Hogsett; and brother, Ron Prosser.

There will be a visitation of friends and family at on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. followed by a celebration of life ceremony at 7:00 p.m. for Jimmy at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Rd., Nashville, TN 37211. https://www.woodbinefuneralhome.com
