Mrs. Mary Alice Scales Barlow went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, she was 95 years old.
She joins her beloved husband of 65 years, W. L. Barlow; and her parents, Thomas and Nanny Scales; son-in-law, Bill Taylor; and her sweet grandson, T. J. Taylor. She is also preceded in death by her in-laws, James and Mamie Barlow; her twelve siblings, and their spouses.
She leaves behind children, Judy (Spence) Oliver, Jerry (Donna) Barlow, Sharon Taylor & Lydia Barlow; grandchildren, Bill, Heather, Jim, Brandee, Scott, Shane, T. C., Billy, and Terri; 16 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Mary was known to her family as “Nanny” and was blessed to be able to teach Sunday School for more than 60 years. She retired from McQuiddy Printing Company and lived her life as the Christian example for all.
Of all these things, her greatest accomplishments were her strong Christian faith, loving marriage, and her relationships with family and friends. Thanks to the many family members and church members who visited with Mary and brought gifts, cards, vegetables, and sweets.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 8, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, HICKORY CHAPEL, 5852 Nolensville Road, by Bro. Paul Cunningham. Interment Nolensville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Oliver, Billy House, Aaron Gaddis, Hayden Schreeder, Jessie Wisener, and Rodney Gaddis.
