Mr. Jonathan “Demetrius” Bone, son of John Bone, Jr. and the late, great Juanita A. Bone was born in Nashville, TN on April 3, 1961 and passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. He was the third of six kids born to this union.

He is preceded in death by his beloved brother Gary D. Bone.

Jonathan received his education in the Metro Davidson Public School System and graduated from Hume Fogg High School. Following high school, Jonathan was employed in various fields from Hospitality to Industrial work. He eventually landed at The Tennessean Newspaper and completed several years of service there.

“Metrius”, as he was affectionately known to some and “Bone” to others, loved sports; he was a passionate Dallas Cowboys fan and music enthusiast. Even after misfortune, He was resilient and refused to give up on himself or the world. His presence illuminated any room and family gatherings were never short of his hulking hugs. We will miss our gentle giant.

Jonathan leaves to cherish his memories: His father John Bone Jr.; sisters Anita Bone (Joe), Audrey Bone, Angel Bone; brother Joshua L. Bone (Karen); nieces Natosha Bone, Shandaka Bone, Teonte’ Bone; nephews Tahajudd Bone (Robyn), Joshua Bone Jr.(Lutece), Roderick Bone, Jaryn Bone, Jordan Bone; loving aunt Virginia Whitaker; a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews; a host of cousins; devoted friend Robbie Ellison and other relatives.
