Dorothy “Pott” Nash, passed away on May 10, 2024.
She was born in Savannah, GA. on October 6, 1946.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lovett R Potter and Susie Dawson, and by her husband Hugh O. Nash Jr.
Survived by Children Catherine Elder, Hugh, Will, and Sarah. Son-in-law Kevin Elder and daughters-in-law Meghan (Ingleson) and Sarah (Statz). Grandchildren Elizabeth, Michael, Jacob, Anna Grace, Mary Catherine, Michaela, Reagan, McCarthy, and Madeline. Great grandchildren Mason, Mallory, Mikey, and Jonah.
She will be dearly missed by her family and the many suffering alcoholics she has assisted in finding Sobriety.
Pott was a member of the Junior League of Savannah, and the Junior League of Nashville. She was a dedicated servant to the homeless via her work with Father Ryan High School’s Soup Kitchen. She was also involved in the Cursillo movement, Pott loved her family and friends deeply.
Pott also loved the art of jewelry-making. She began her business, DPN Designs, in 2002, proudly displaying her beautiful works at fairs and trade shows and sharing her gifts and knowledge with others.
Pott’s greatest accomplishment was her 38 years of sobriety, and the tireless work she performed in the service of others to help them achieve sobriety.
Pott enjoyed tennis, playing card games, the ocean, long conversations at her kitchen table, and her dogs – Raven, Fisher, and Bella. Pott was also an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, UGA Football, and Tennessee Titans.
Above all, Pott’s greatest passion was loving and serving others, and giving all of herself to anyone in need.
Visitation with the family will be held at Marshall-Donnelly-Combs Funeral Home, 201 25th Ave N Nashville, TN 37203, Tuesday, May 14, 6-8 pm. Mass will be held at Saint Henry’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 15 at 11 am, with a visitation and rosary prior to funeral service at 10 am. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/nashville-tn
