Frank Kindell Littlejohn passed away on Wednesday, July 12th, 2023.

He was born April 17th, 1936, to Frank Brown and Helen Deloras Stiles Littlejohn in Murphy, NC.

At the age of six, the family moved to Nashville, TN. He attended Lipscomb Elementary School and later moved to North Little Rock, Arkansas. He returned to Nashville where he graduated from Howard High School in 1954. At Howard, he was president of his senior class and was elected most popular. He also sang in the school chorus and played basketball and football.

In the mid-fifties, he enlisted in the US Navy and spent two years as a Corpsman at the Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan. When he returned home, he worked at Williams-Tinder Optical Company and Thom McCann Shoe Store. Later, he was a clerk in the Treasurer’s Office of the Old City of Nashville, which later came Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County. He retired as Assistant Treasurer in the Finance Department.

After retirement, he worked part-time with American Eagle Airlines, after which he worked part-time for the Metro Trustee’s Office until his final retirement. He traveled extensively. He was an avid fan of the University of Tennessee sports, particularly football, and attended many games across the states. In his younger days, Frank loved to bowl in local leagues, to spend time on the lake in his boat, and water ski. In his later years, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, and watching Western movies.

In 1959, he met and married Velma Arlene Parr, who survives him. Other survivors are sons, Mark (Jenny) of Spring Hill, and Scott (Meghan) of Franklin; grandsons, Jake and Trevor Littlejohn of Franklin; granddaughters, Stephanie (Robbie) Comer, Sheena Littlejohn, Shaylan (Alyvia) Littlejohn; six great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Littlejohn Blanks; nephews, John Blanks, Stephen Blanks; nieces, Kendra Blanks Baggett and Tracy Parr O’Brien.

He was a member of Arlington United Methodist Church where he served on the Finance and Trustees’ Committees and was Head Usher.

A Memorial Service is planned for Sunday, July 16 at Arlington with visitation with the family at 2:00 p.m. Services will start at 3:00 p.m. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/nashville-tn
