Faye Whitley, age 86 of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

Preceded in death by parents, Hume “Doc” and Lillie Whitley; sister, Sue (Eugene) Green; and brother, Paul Whitley.

Survived by sister-in-law, Ethel Whitley; niece, Bonnie (David) McCallie; great-niece, Lillie McCallie; great-nephew, Matthew Hendrix; niece, Brenda (Steve) Hendrix; and nephews, Albert (Diane) Green, Steve Whitley and Greg Whitley.

Faye was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. The day after she graduated from high school she started working at the National Life Insurance Company. She worked there through two acquisitions of American General Life and Accident and finally AIG. She retired in 2002. While working there she made life-long friends and enjoyed taking vacations to Florida and even Hawaii with them.

Faye never married or had children of her own. However, she took care of her nieces and nephews as if they were hers and enjoyed spoiling them when she could.

She selflessly took care of her mother when she fell ill with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. She made sure that her mother never had to leave home to be cared for up to the end.

Faye loved for her yard to be filled with flowers, especially iris. She had many different kinds of irises that she had planted and was excited every spring to see them bloom.

Most people didn’t know this, but Faye contributed to many different local charities. She wanted to give back to others and help those in need.

Faye will be missed so much, but we know that we will be united again one day. She is finally at peace. She is home now with all of the people she loved so dearly. We find comfort in knowing that she is watching over us.

Until we meet again, we love you.
