Ms. Portia Elaine Mitchell was born August 15, 1948, in Nashville, Tennessee to the union of James Lyons and Mary Mitchell. She departed this life on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Life Care Center in Old Hickory, TN.
Portia accepted Christ in her life at an early age and was united with Love United Church. She was educated in the Nashville Davidson County Schools and was a graduate of Pearl High School.
Portia was employed for over 25 years as a Nurses Tech with St. Cecilia Convent. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, cooking and attending Church Service.
She was preceded in death by her son, Eric D. Mitchell, sisters, Clarisse & Norma
She leaves to cherish her memories, sister, Deborah (Thomas) Akins, brothers, Darnell and Reginald, best friends, Melinda Holbert, loyal friends, Adondra Murphy, Lovella Hagewood, Janette Hill and Elaine Tucker along with several of her beloved nieces and nephews.
