It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eli Bennett, an exceptional husband, father, Papa, and businessman whose life was a tapestry of quiet dedication, generous spirit, and unwavering hard work.

Eli Bennett, Sr., 90, of Goodlettsville, TN, passed away November 24, 2024, at Hendersonville Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee on May 11, 1934, to Eldred and Martha Bennett.

Predeceased by parents Eldred and Martha Bennett, wife of 71 yrs, Jeanette Peery Bennett, and sisters, Annette B. Ralph and Nancy Bennett.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are children, Dee Bennett, Yvonne Bennett (Mike) Leggett, Jeff (Jan) Bennett, grandchildren, Brandy (Andy) McWilliams, Banica (Ian) Crockett, Brice Bennett, Kristen Bennett, great grandchildren, Olivia McWilliams, Andrew McWilliams, Ian Thomas Crockett, Elea Rhea Crockett, Campbell Crockett, Isaac McWilliams, and Eli Crockett, and sister, Barbara Dildy.

Eli was an avid duck hunter who cherished the tranquility and challenge of the great outdoors. His love for adventure took him and his wife around the world, where he made cherished memories with family and friends. They especially enjoyed fishing together and family beach trips to New Smyrna Beach. A man of commitment, he was actively involved in several organizations, including the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the National Tooling and Machining Association, and the East Nashville Lions Club. Eli also contributed his time and expertise as a board member at Goodpasture Christian School and was a long-time member of the Madison Church of Christ.

Eli’s professional life was marked by diligence and success. He was the owner and operator of Bennett Tool & Die in Nashville, Tennessee, and a part-owner of Link Systems. His work ethic and dedication made him an excellent provider for his family, and his quiet generosity extended to many, though often without recognition.

Remembered by all for his easy-going nature and quiet strength, Eli’s legacy is one of kindness, integrity, and unwavering support for those he loved. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family will receive friends and family from 12 pm noon on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. A celebration of Mr. Bennett’s life will follow at 2:30 pm. Mr. Bennett will be interred privately at a later date.
