A fiery single-vehicle crash Sunday just after 3 a.m. on I-24 West at Hickory Hollow Parkway has claimed the lives of one man and two women.
The preliminary investigation shows that what appeared to be a 4-door Kia was traveling west on I-24 when, for reasons unknown, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree in the grass median area at the exit to Hickory Hollow Parkway. The vehicle burst into flames.
The three occupants died at the scene.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will work to positively identify them.
