Homicide Unit detectives are working to confirm the motive in the fatal shooting of Etabo Malanda, 16, at Fallbrook Apartments on Dellway Villa Road on July 4, 2023.
Malanda was reportedly standing on the porch of an apartment when two armed individuals came from around the corner and confronted him. Malanda had a pistol inside his hoodie and attempted to pull it. He was then shot.
Malanda died shortly after arriving at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. A total of four guns were recovered from the apartment, including Malanda’s pistol, which was reported stolen.
