February 25, 2025 – An investigation into last September’s fatal wounding of a 15-year-old inside an apartment on British Woods Drive has now led to the arrest of a 16-year-old on a charge of criminally negligent homicide.
Bentley Delancy was visiting the 16-year-old on September 6 when they reportedly both began to handle and play with a semi-automatic pistol. The gun went off and Delancy was hit in the neck. He was hospitalized and died on September 8. The continuing investigation, which included an analysis of the medical examiner’s findings, showed no indication of the victim’s hand being on the gun at the time it was fired.
The 16-year-old was booked at Juvenile Court.
