February 24, 2025 – Repeat convicted sex offender James Josey III, 34, is free on $6,000 bond after he was caught in the women’s restroom Friday night at the Hard Rock Café, 1000 Broadway, recording a 16-year-old female in a bathroom stall.

Josey was confronted by several people and detained until police arrived. During an interview, he admitted to videoing in women’s restrooms for sexual gratification and was charged with invasion of privacy and disorderly conduct.

In April of 2022, Josey was charged with invasion of privacy, peeping tom, for using a cell phone to record female victims ages 2, 5, 9, and 34 while in a stall of the women’s restroom at the Hermitage Whataburger restaurant. The charge in that case was a felony due to the young age of the victims (under 13). Josey wound up being convicted of a misdemeanor and received a sentence of 11 months/29 days.

Josey committed similar invasion of privacy offenses in Knoxville where he was placed on the sex offender registry in 2015.
