Second Man Arrested and Charged with Attempted Murder in Shoemaker Court Shooting

(May 25, 2022) TITANS (The Investigative Team Addressing Neighborhood Shootings) detectives today arrested Avion Oldham, 18, as the second alleged car burglar and gunman who opened fire on a Shoemaker Court resident on May 14, critically wounding him.

Undercover detectives apprehended Oldham as he sat in a parked car in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Tulip Grove Road. Seized from the car were a pistol and bullets of the same caliber found on Shoemaker Court, 189 grams of marijuana and eight oxycodone pills. Oldham is charged with attempted murder along with gun and drug offenses. His bond is set at $216,000.

Oldham’s alleged accomplice, Donald Garrett Jr., 18, was arrested and charged with attempted murder in this case on May 16.

Oldham and Garrett are accused of being car burglars who opened fire on a 55-year-old man who stepped out of his doorway upon being alerted by his surveillance system that someone was in his driveway.

Detective Mary Robinson from the Violent Crimes Division is leading this investigation.
