Kentarius Carpenter, 31, of Memphis, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck on Apache Trail this morning by a Ford Focus. The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the Focus was traveling east along a slight right curve when Carpenter ran across the roadway.
Carpenter was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
There were no signs of impairment at the scene.
