OBITUARY: William ‘Tony’ Sanford Earp III

William “Tony” Sanford Earp, III, 88, of Antioch, Tennessee, passed away on November 15, 2024, at 6:18 p.m.

A native of North Nashville, William or Tony as he was affectionately known was born on August 16, 1936 to the late William Sanford Earp II and Ruby Mae Arnette.

He was a member of the 1956 graduating class of North Nashville High School. In his working years, he was employed with the State of Tennessee as a Director of Data Processing. William Was a member of Hickory Hollow Baptist Church where he served as a member of the Deacon body and his favorite snack was grilled cheese sandwiches.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wives Christine Earp and Marie P. Earp.

William is survived by his children William Daryl Earp, and Sharon (Geoffrey) Buwalda; grandchildren Andrew Taylor Earp, Jennifer (John) Hiett and Amy (Jeremy Mitchell) Buwalda; great-grandchildren Lillian Haislip, Jacob Earp, Cayden Hiett, Tristan Buwalda, Gunnar Hiett and Elena Mitchell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2024, in Dignity Hall at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, located at 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN 37204.
