William Lamar Hartman Jr. was born on March 7, 1957, in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, with his wife Christine by his side.

Lamar was best known for his unwavering love for his family. He cherished the time he spent with his wife Christine and their two children, Nicholas and Alina. He loved camping with his family at Frisco Woods on Cape Hatteras. He shared his passion for pro football, especially the New Orleans Saints, with his son, Nicholas. On any fall Sunday afternoon, you could often hear him in the den saying “Who dat? Who dat say they gonna beat dem Saints!” Lamar also enjoyed Alina’s love for soccer, and long before the season began, you could find them out in the yard running drills and working on specific foot skills.

Lamar loved playing games. He played baseball when he was a kid at Pascagoula High School, enjoyed golf, and especially loved bocce ball and corn hole on the beach, as well as backgammon at the campground. Playing any game with a competitive aspect around the family pool brought him joy. He had a deep appreciation for music, particularly Bob Dylan. Lamar’s world-class seafood gumbo was legendary and he took pleasure in collecting rocks for landscaping the yard. Lamar had a sharp sense of humor that often took people by surprise.

Lamar is survived by his wife Christine Birskovich Hartman, son Nicholas (wife Kavina), daughter Alina, sister, Dana Hartman Burleson, and brother, Rocky Hartman.

He is predeceased by his parents, Mary (Farragut) and William (Bill) Hartman.

Lamar’s spirit, love for life, and especially his deep love for his family will be deeply missed.
