He was married to Martha Riddle Justice from Ashland, Alabama.

John Justice lived in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born in Pikeville, KY but grew up in Trenton, Michigan attending Michigan Tech University and earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

After ROTC in college, he joined the Army and was stationed at Redstone Arsenal performing studies on Ground to Air Missiles. After leaving the army, he joined the Anniston National Guard Engineering Unit where he was promoted to Captain and Commander of the unit until his move to Nashville, Tennessee. John served on the Advisory Board for Nashville State Technical Community College while he was working for Northern Telecom.

After working for several manufacturing companies as an Engineer, he decided to go into business for himself. For over 20 years he was the President and CEO of JCD Manufacturing, Inc. before retiring and traveling with his wife on vacations, visiting his children and attending sporting events of his grandchildren. John believed in integrity and honesty in dealing with people and businesses and lived his life accordingly.

Growing up John loved to play baseball and continued to enjoy being a spectator of baseball into adulthood as well as an avid Nashville Predator’s Hockey fan. He also coached youth baseball and basketball when his son was involved in those sports. He loved nothing better than taking off on a pretty day to play golf and enjoy the fellowship with a group of men at Franklin Bridge Golf Club in Franklin, TN.

John enjoyed history and was particularly interested in the airplanes from World War I and II. If there was a military museum in a town we were visiting, it was a must see on his agenda.

John was also very active with the Boy Scout unit at the church going on various camping, canoeing and skiing trips with the troop and his son. Family and friends will remember John’s quick wit, kindness, love of God, our Country, sports, history, and travel; but most importantly the love he had for his family. He was so proud of his son and two daughters. His wife and family certainly loved him.

John was active in the church over the years serving on several boards, teaching Sunday School in the Fellowship Forum Class, serving as past president of the Men’s club, serving as Liaison to the Boy Scouts, and the last two years serving as Lay Leader to the Tennessee-Western KY United Methodist Annual Conference.
