Virginia Bell, age 93 of Nashville, passed away with grace on July 13, 2021.
She was born Helen Virginia Herbert in Brentwood, TN to the late George Washington Carmichael Herbert and Clio Mai Bell Herbert. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” E. Bell, Jr.
Mrs. Bell is survived by her children, Marilyn Bell Loveless (Bruce) of Norfork, Arkansas, Bob Bell (Joyce) of Franklin, Tennessee and Annella Bell Ware (Joseph) of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Susan Loveless Golden (Chris), Andrea Loveless Wells (Jason), Jon Bell (Melissa), Michael Bell (Courtney), Ryan Ware, Jenny Ware Wise (Sterling) and Darrick Ware; great-grandchildren, Allan Golden, Jake Golden, Sadie Wells, and Ella Wise.
As a child, Mrs. Bell attended Old Smyrna United Methodist Church and Brentwood United Methodist Church. As an adult, she attended Woodmont Christian Church. She graduated from Central High School where she was a member of the “Chicks of 46”, the 4-H Club, and was honored to square dance on stage at The Grand Ole Opry. She attended Peabody College. Later in life, she was active in a number of organizations: Colonial Dames, Questors Club, and Fostoria Glass Club. Mrs. Bell enjoyed getting to know people, was an avid sports fan (especially the Atlanta Braves), and was a strong supporter of P.O.W. organizations.
Gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 11 A. M. with a Celebration of Life Service at 1 pm in Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton’s Dignity Hall. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Franklin, TN at 3 pm.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Fostoria Glass Society Museum, Moundsville, West Virginia.
