Troy Lee Williams, a proud veteran, loving husband, father, and true Southern gentleman, passed away on April 29, 2023, in Nashville, TN, at the age of 73.
Troy was born on May 24, 1949, in Fayetteville, TN, to the late Levi and Molly Taylor Williams.
Troy was a man of honor and integrity, with a heart of gold. He served his country with great pride as a United States Marine Corps member for 10 years. Troy was a courageous veteran who fought in the Vietnam War and was awarded several ribbons and medals for his bravery in combat. Troy was also an esteemed Marksmanship Instructor and was well respected by his colleagues and students alike.
After retiring from the Marine Corps, Troy continued to serve his community by volunteering for many organizations that supported veterans. He was a generous man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Troy loved his family more than anything and was always there for them. He was a devoted husband and father, who cherished the time he spent with his loved ones. He was a true Southern gentleman who enjoyed sharing stories over a glass of bourbon.
Troy is survived by his beloved wife, Shelley Lynn Williams; his sons, Scott Williams, Michael Crecelius, Brandon Tierney, and Justin Martz; brothers: Billy Williams and Gary Williams; sister: Carol Rutledge Williams; sister-in-law, Linda Williams, and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Troy’s life and legacy will continue to inspire others, and he will forever be remembered as a hero who served his country with honor and a kind and generous soul who made a positive impact on the lives of everyone he touched.
