Timothy-Everett-Eggleston

Mr. Timothy Everett Eggleston passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022, surrounded by family.

Born on July 9, 1954 in Paris, France to Colonel Edmond Overton Eggleston and Doris Cobler Eggleston, Tim was a twin and one of six children.

According to family lore, Tim and his twin, Tom, were the troublemakers of the family; however, Tim would never confirm nor deny these accusations.

Tim graduated from Fort Campbell High School in 1972 and went on to earn a degree in Education and History from Tennessee Technological University in 1976 and a degree in Information Technology from Nashville State Technical Institute in 1982. Tim joined Baptist Hospital in 1977 and remained a Systems Analyst until his retirement in 2021.

Baseball was Tim’s first love. As a lifelong member of the Cardinals Nation, Tim enjoyed traveling to St. Louis to watch his Cards play and then take in BBQ and blues afterward. When he wasn’t watching baseball, Tim enjoyed attending music festivals, relaxing on the beach, and continuing his study of history. Tim was magnetic, and when he entered a room with a “Hey Gang,” everyone was included.

Above all, Tim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Vicki, and celebrating Halloween with his granddaughters, Rome and Wren. He will be remembered for his ongoing love of history documentaries despite knowing how the story ends and for his love of dachshunds. Those who know and love him speculate his favorite part of dachshund ownership was the opportunity to make bawdy puns.

Tim is survived by his wife, Vicki Eggleston (née Stremming); children Christopher (Jennifer) Eggleston of Roanoke, Virginia; and Kevin (Bethena) Eggleston of Lafayette, Tennessee, siblings William (Cynthia) Eggleston of Naples, Florida; Patricia (Thomas) Eggleston-Swift of Bradenton, Florida; Carolyn (Thomas) Eggleston of Long Beach, California; and Gregory Eggleston of Cadiz, Kentucky; two granddaughters, Rome and Wren; and puppy, Augustus. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Doris Eggleston; twin brother, Thomas Eggleston; sister-in-law, Anna-Marie Eggleston; and beloved dachshund, Rufus.

A celebration of life will be held at Marshall, Donnely, and Combs Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. Visitation with the family will precede the service beginning at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Tim’s memory to either 10, 000 Villages or 2nd Harvest Food Bank Nashville.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.marshalldonnellycombs.com for the Eggleston family.
