OBITUARY: Thomas ‘Tom’ Yeargin

Thomas “Tom” Yeargin left his earthly body after 90 years on May 29, 2022. Tom was born on January 16, 1932, in Nashville, TN to Robert C. Yeargin and Mary Suddath Yeargin.

Tom attended Hume Fogg High School and completed some College. Tom’s early years were spent as a Sonar Operator of the 7th Fleet of the U.S. Navy. He had an honorable discharge in 1956.

Tom worked 33 years for AT&T without taking one sick day. He held many positions over the years working his way up to a Supervisory Position over the warehouse.

Tom is survived by his wife, Maxine Fuller Yeargin married in 1954; a daughter, Denise Yeargin; two grandsons, Logan (Vickie) Haendel and Austin (Mary-Beth) Haendel; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary Haendel and Harper Mae Haendel.

To his family and close friends, Tom was the Quintessential Southern Gentleman. His main focus was God, family, career, and community. Tom served as an Elder of Wingate Church of Christ and also at Woodmont Hills Church. In his later years, he was a member of Brentwood Hills Church of Christ.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be conducted Friday, June 3, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery by Wendell Byrd. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. https://www.woodbinefuneralhome.com
