Theresa Louise Fisher was born on September 13, 1943 in Triune City, Tennessee to the union of Grady “Moon” Floyd and Nellie Louise Dean Floyd. She departed this life on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
Theresa was educated in the Davidson County Public School Systems, attending Cameron Middle and Pearl High School. She was employed as a Caterer, Housekeeper, CNA, and Teacher’s Assistant. She worked in Private homes, Bordeaux Hospital, Clover Bottom Developmental Center, Stratford High School and Whites Creek Comp. High School, from the age of 13 until her retirement.
Therese was united in Holy Matrimony to Leroy Burns, and she was later married to Benny Fisher for 41 years, until his passing.
Theresa accepted Christ at an early age and united with Olivet MB Church, where she sang in choir, and was President of Women’s Auxiliary. She also was a cook, choir member, & mother at Jackson Street MB Church, and Mother & choir member at the New Cedar Grove MB
Church.
Theresa Fisher loved helping people/family and promoting education. She loved children and had several “love” adopted nieces, nephews, & children.
She donated her body to Meharry Medical (HBCU) to help others learn from her condition(s). She was a wonderful mother grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her!!!
Theresa was preceded in death by her husbands, Leroy Burns, Benny Fisher, parents, Grady and Nellie Floyd, siblings, Willie Floyd, Robert Floyd, Armintha Langley, Grady Floyd Jr., James Floyd, and Tommy Floyd, and grandchild, Brian J Wilcox Jr.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories children, LaBronze Floyd, Rodney L Burns, Pashae R Burns, Bennyta T Fisher, Patricia D Fisher, and devoted daughter-in-law, Cheryl L Hayes-Floyd, grandchildren, Willie Floyd, Bronzie Floyd, Marneka Thompson, Shari Beasley, Rodney Burns Jr., Ashley & Shannon Maye, Toni Burns, Jaysarius Fisher, Darius Henderson, Dexter Henderson Jr., Patrick Wilcox, siblings, Patsy Floyd and Yvonne Floyd-Lockett, great-grandchildren, Jaysarius Fisher Jr, Jarion Howell, Landus Jones, Lacey Wilson, Jayden & Jaylah Thompson, Riley Clay- Donaldson, Gabriella Wiseman, Michael Jr Andrew & Kristopher Shaw, A’Myah and DaZari Beasley, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
