Terry Roger Childress, age 73, of Nashville, passed away on June 10, 2022, at Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville.

He was born on November 3, 1948 in Grundy, Virginia to the late Lawrence and Juanita Frances Childress.

Terry proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. He was retired as a Correctional Officer for the State of TN after many years of service. He enjoyed biking and loved music, but he got his greatest enjoyment out of a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup. Mr. Childress also thoroughly enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors with their yards and landscaping projects.

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his brother: Johnny Childress; his sisters: Annette Stacy and Portia Colwell; and his best friend and neighbor: Ms. Blanche Settles.

Survivors include his daughter: Amy Childress (Chris) of Nashville; one brother: Steve Childress; his sisters: Wanda Mitten, Janice Bowersox, and Jackie Trivitt; his grandchildren: Lacey, Karley, Tyler, Destiny, Madison, Shawn, and Reagan; and one great-grandchild: Desmond.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Todd Vermilyea officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Middle Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery in Pegram at 1:00 p.m. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. http://taylorsince1909.com
