Mr. Gene H. Smith of Antioch, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, he was 82 years old.
Gene was one of the original owners of the Nashville Sounds. He is a past president and board member of the Old Timers Baseball Association in Nashville. Gene was chosen as a member of the organization’s Nashville Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002. Gene has been a cattleman in Antioch most of his life.
Survived by wife, Patricia “Pat” Cope Smith; daughter, Rhonda Gentry; son Daniel Smith; grandchildren, Drew (Amanda) Gentry, Tylor Gentry, and Taylor (Cova) Gentry; and great-grandson, Patton Gentry.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 12:00 Noon at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road by Rev. Greg Dunn. Interment Cane Ridge Cemetery.
