Teela C. Stephens of Hermitage, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, she was 73 years old.
She was born to Edward Marvin and Marjorie (Bigger) Comstock on March 3, 1949 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Teela graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree from Tennessee Tech in 1971. She had a long career in insurance starting with The Hartford Insurance Company.
Later in life she was very proud to became a co-owner of ASC Insurance. She retired from ASC as Sr. Vice President of Quality & Compliance. She had a great wit and sense of humor with a wonderful laugh.
She loved being out in nature especially the ocean, Parksville Lake, and walking her beautiful property on Percy Priest Lake.
Teela is survived by her nephew, Stephen (Christy) of Cleveland, Tennessee and his children Jack and Lucy Duncan.
The family is extremely appreciative to all the people who have cared for Teela in various ways over her long battle with cancer. We especially appreciate the tireless care that Kathy Mullinix provided by coming to stay with her each weekend in addition to numerous other things she did for Teela.
The family gives special thanks to her friends Kathy Ingleson, Cathy Sanders, and Janet Uphoff who took turns staying with her, taking her to appointments, and caring for her towards the end of her life.
The family is also thankful to Comfort Care Sitters and Alive Hospice who gave her wonderful end-of-life care.
Finally, we want to thank one of Teela’s sitters, Adrionna Caldwell for her friendship to Teela.
Along with her parents, Teela is preceded in death by her brother, Terry Marvin Comstock and sister-in-law, Betty Jane Comstock
A gathering of family and friends for Teela will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, followed by a small funeral service at 11:00 AM.
