OBITUARY: Rickey O’Bryan Sloan Sr

Rickey O’Bryan Sloan Sr., age 52 of Gallatin, TN passed away peacefully at home on June 13, 2025, with his family by his side.

Rickey was born March 27, 1973, in Nashville, TN to Rickey Sloan and Shirley (Parker) Dotson. He married Lisa Ford-Sloan on August 8, 2008.

The family, along with many friends, has lost an amazing human being. His passions were his children, drag racing, basketball, bowling, coaching his sons in football and basketball and traveling with his daughter in gymnastics. Rickey loved to take care of his family and enjoy time with his grandkids. His love for family and life will greatly be missed.

Rickey worked as a roll threader for 30 plus years. In 2016, he left Structural Bolt due to becoming disabled. He took joy in raising his kids and family. He and his wife enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping and traveling with their kids. His jokes, nicknames and pranks will truly be missed.

His motto was he didn’t care what anyone thought, he was 100% real. Those who will miss him most include his wife, Lisa; sons, Devin (Gracie) Sloan and Rickey (RJ) Sloan Jr.; daughters, Madison (Maddie) Sloan and Courtney Olds; granddaughters, Alijah, Addie and Nevaeh; grandson, Adrian O’Bryan Sloan; brother, John Stevens; a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and friends. He was reunited with his father-in-law, aunts and uncles.
