Ralph Dale McIntosh, Sr. (Ralph), born on August 5, 1946, was sent to his Heavenly home on March 18th, 2025 in Nashville, TN. He was the beloved son of the late James Leonard McIntosh and Vernie Gladys Peercy McIntosh.
Ralph was preceded in death by his brother, James Leonard McIntosh, Jr. Ralph is survived by his wife Virginia Hicks McIntosh, son Ralph Dale McIntosh, Jr. (Dale), daughter Corinne Virginia Ragsdale and son Jared Drew McIntosh, son-in-law Ricky Ragsdale, grandson Mason Ragsdale, sister Jean Jarnigan, brother-in-law Earnie Jarnigan (departed), brother Randall McIntosh, sister-in-law Pat McIntosh, sister-in-law Mabel McIntosh and sister Joyce McIntosh Rainey. He also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Ralph was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him for the way his life was lived and for the profound impact he had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Ralph was born in Nashville, TN and grew up on a farm in Little Lot in Hickman County, Tennessee. He graduated from Cocke County High School in Newport, TN in 1964, Hiwassee College in Madisonville, TN in 1967, Tennessee Wesleyan College in May of 1969 and Middle Tennessee State University in 1978 (where he met and married Virgina Hicks). He taught 7th grade Social Studies for 4 years at Rhea Central High School. He then moved to Middle Tennessee where he taught U.S. History and Economics at Springfield High School for 32 years. Ralph retired from teaching in 2005, thereafter enjoying his days in his love of his family and his devotion to Parkway Baptist Church.
