Patricia Ann (Pat) Tidwell Moneypenny, surrounded by her loving family in her home, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 6, 2024.

Pat was born in Nashville, Tennessee on June 6, 1933, daughter to the late Thomas Jackson Tidwell and Bessie Lillian Green Tidwell.

She is preceded in death by her seven siblings, brothers, Thomas Jackson Tidwell, Jr., Travis Larimore Tidwell and Johnnie Davis Tidwell. Her sisters were Mary Lois Brandon, Margaret Elizabeth Boynton, Billie Dean Douglas, and Betty Jo Hankins.

Our beautiful, loving and precious mother has now joined our sweet daddy, the man of her dreams, in heaven. Harry Bridges Moneypenny, Sr., her husband of 54 years, preceded Pat in death in 2006. Pat and Harry met and fell in love on the campus of what was then called David Lipscomb High School and David Lipscomb College (today Lipscomb Academy and Lipscomb University). She was a sophomore in high school and he was a sophomore in college.

Harry was the starting center on the college basketball team and during one game he fell into Pat’s lap chasing the ball out of bounds, as she was sitting on the front row of the bleachers. I guess we could say it was “love at first fall” and Harry did all he could to find out who that pretty young lady was.

After dating one another for two years, Pat and Harry married on the CBS “Bride and Groom” television show in New York City on April 30, 1952. The television show producers had heard about Pat and Harry’s love story and selected them to come and marry on their show. Their love began strong and special and grew much more so through the years.

Pat worked as an administrative assistant for a company in Columbia, South Carolina while Harry served in the army during the Korean War. Once they moved back to Nashville, Pat continued to work as an administrative assistant with the Western Auto Corporation and, years later, as administrative assistant to the Headmaster at Franklin Road Academy.

Pat’s greatest accomplishment in life, as she always said, was to serve the Lord and be the best wife, mother and grandmother that she could. Our dear mother highly exceeded those hopes and dreams for herself.

Left to cherish the precious memories of our mother and grandmother are her children, Sherry Moneypenny (Petey) Parsons, Kim Moneypenny (Charlie) Warden, Penny Moneypenny (Kevin) Forte, and Harry Bridges (LeighAnna), Moneypenny, Jr. Pat/Nana was blessed with eleven grandchildren, Monica Warden Rhodes, Amanda Parsons, Natasha Warden, Patrick (Ryan-Ashley) Parsons, McCarty (Bre) Forte, Morgan Forte, Jack Forte, Bailey Forte, Josie Moneypenny, Bridges Moneypenny and Max Moneypenny. Nana’s family continued to blossom and grow to include twelve great-grandchildren, Kendall Warden, Hayden Pack, Riley Pack, Miller Rhodes, Hudson Rhodes, Elliana Parsons, Adelynn Parsons, Sterling Parsons, Presley Parsons, Meriwether Green Parsons, Oliver Forte and Duke Parsons.

Pat and Harry were devoted followers of Christ and active members at First Christian Church, Nashville, their entire marriage. In her later years, Pat was a member of Aspen Grove Christian Church in Franklin.

Visitation will be held at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, Thursday, May 9, from 4:00-7:00 pm, and on Friday, May 10 from 10:00-11:30 am. Services will be conducted following visitation on Friday, May 10 at 11:30 am., Adam Kaufhold officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery at 12:30 pm. Pallbearers are grandsons of their Nana, Patrick Parsons, McCarty Forte, Jack Forte, Bailey Forte, Bridges Moneypenny, and Max Moneypenny. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/nashville-tn
