Patricia Ann Angel, 57, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on December 26, 2023 due to pancreatic cancer.

Born in Killeen, Texas on April 18, 1966 at Fort Hood, Patricia was called “Sissy” from as far back as anyone can remember.

Sissy loved animals and that passion’s recipients expanded in 1975 after her family moved from Nashville to Bogota, Columbia, birth home of her father, to manage the family ranch and where she learned to ride horses.

She was dedicated to rescuing cats for whom she had a special fondness and compassion. Her innate creativity and interest in design manifested as a talent for sewing, making clothes for herself and her mother after struggling to find clothing that fit correctly and looked good, and resulted in a degree in industrial design from Jorge Tadeo Lozano University of Bogota.

While living in Bogota, Sissy worshiped at Santa Maria del Campo and upon returning to the United States in 2000 at her early childhood church, St. Paul’s Lutheran in north Nashville. Through their church attendance, she and her mother volunteered to cook breakfast for the residents of the Nashville Women’s Shelter for many years.

Sissy worked at Acceptance Insurance Corporation for 20 years and will be dearly missed by her colleagues and friends. Her niece and nephew knew her to be a patient listener, astute solver of problems, and always ready to offer good advice.

Sissy is survived by her niece, Pamela Angel (Kessler); her nephew, Nicolas Angel; her great nephews Dominic and Jaxon Kessler; her uncle Donald Gibson; her cousins Donnie, Dawn (Simmons), and Derek Gibson; her best friend Carlos A. Solórzano A., all residents of the United States of America; and cousins Patricia Botero, Valentina Ángel, Clemencia Ángel, and Juan Antonio y Santiago Ángel, all residents of Colombia.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Cristobál (Cris) Mejia Angel and Lillian Fay Gibson Angel, and her brothers, Paul Reavis Angel and Joseph (Joey) Gibson Angel.

Sissy is and will be fondly and lovingly remembered for her kind heart, love for animals, and creativity.
