Mr. Oscar Felix Chinique, age 87 of Goodlettsville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at his home.
He was born on August 23, 1934 in Havana, Cuba to Jose Chinique and Amalia Ortega.
He worked for Tennessee Uniform, now Cintas, and for Car Quest. Mr. Chinique played baseball for the Nashville Vols at Sulpher Dell and was a pitcher and shortstop player for the Minnesota Twins. He loved baseball more than anything.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Caperton Chinique; sons, Osqui Chinique and Ricci (Myria) Chinique; brother Louis Chinique; sister, Delia Chinique.
He is survived by his son, Stephen Chinique, Goodlettsville, TN; daughter-in-law, Myria Rank, Springfield, MO; brothers, Berto (Cuqui) Chinique and Elio Chinique, both of Hialeah, FL; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 11 am in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House. Interment will follow in White House Memorial Garden s with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family is scheduled for Friday, April 1, 2022 4-8 pm, and Saturday, April 2, 2022 9 am-11 am at the funeral home.
