Nan Pitts Smith of Nashville, Tennessee was born on June 5, 1944, and was welcomed home on Friday, June 24, 2022.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, David Ray Smith; sons, Clark Smith and Stacey Smith; granddaughters, Amanda (Josh) Dorris, Jamie Smith, and Jessica Smith; great-grandchildren, Henley Dorris and Lane Dorris; brothers, Frank (Sherrill) Pitts and Monty Pitts; sister, Martha Pitts; sister-in-law, Connie (Ed) Colley; and several nieces, nephew, and cousins.
Preceded in death by parents, Archie and Junelle Pitts; and grandsons, Cody Lee Smith, and Nicholas Lee Smith.
Nan graduated from Glencliff High School in 1962. She attended Peabody College where she received a degree in home economics and education. She was a teacher at Ezell Harding Christian School where she left her love and knowledge in the hearts and minds of many kindergarten students.
She was a member of Vultee Church of Christ and later transitioned to Antioch Church of Christ. She is loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 4-8 p.m., and Friday, July 1, 2022, from 12-2 p.m. at Antioch Church of Christ, 2142 Antioch Pike. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Church of Christ.
