Amber-Marie-Ortiz

A beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, partner and friend, Amber Marie Ortiz left this world unexpectedly, at age 29, on Saturday, June 25, 2022.

Amber was born on March 26, 1993 in Nashville, TN. Amber was a loving and compassionate person who loved to laugh and make others laugh with her. Her energy was infectious. She had the most beautiful smile that could light up your soul.

Amber grew up in Hendersonville, TN, where she attended Station Camp High School. Throughout Amber’s childhood, there is a small chance you could get through a conversation with her without her bringing up soccer. She loved the sport, loved playing it, and especially loved the friends she made through the many years of playing with the TN United and Station Camp teams.

Amber graduated from Volunteer State Community College and settled into life in Nashville, building connections in the hospitality, tourism, and property management community. Amber loved talking to people and wanted each person to feel at home wherever she worked, whether they were visiting for a weekend, or lived in Nashville their whole lives. She never met a stranger; each person she met would go on to hold a special place in her heart.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Wendy Parker, and grandfather, Rick Raines.

Amber is survived by grandparents, Claire Woodruff, Mike Woodruff, and Donna Raines; sister, Autumn Smith (Austin); stepfather, John Parker; father, Manuel Ortiz; partner, Brandon Hall; aunts, Cheryl, Melinda, Jan, and Kelly; uncles, Bill and Jerry; and numerous cousins and friends.

Those who knew Amber, even just a little lost a shining light in their lives. Amber had so much goodness, so much capacity to bring happiness to others, and such a bright future. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral Services will be held at Alexander Funeral Home and Cremation Center on Wednesday, June 29th at 2:00 pm with Denman Frazer officiating. Burial will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 29th from 11 am until time of service.
