Malcom Wayne “Mike” Bellar, 76, of Old Hickory, Tennessee, passed away on August 2, 2026.
Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was defined by kindness, generosity, and a willingness to help others. Known for his gentle spirit and compassionate heart, he never hesitated to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement. His warmth and love touched countless lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mike was a faithful member of the Old Hickory Nazarene Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Azlee Bellar; and his sisters, Mary Shelton, Etta Short, Betty Derryberry, Roberta Denton, and Willodean Pierce.
He is survived by his beloved wife of seven years, Yolanda Freeman-Bellar; his sons, Keith (Shannon) Bellar and Kory (Danielle) Bellar; his grandchildren, Calista, Mackensi, Keiran, Azleanna, and Georgia; his brother, James Bellar; his sister, Linda Tucker; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends.
Mike will be remembered for his generous heart, quiet strength, and the kindness he showed to everyone he met. His willingness to help others, his unwavering love for his family, and the friendships he built throughout his life will remain a lasting legacy. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 7, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, 2707 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Liver Foundation.
