Melissa Michelle Barr of Joelton, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, June 5th, at the age of 62, peacefully in her sleep.
Mrs. Barr, as she was known by the hundreds of students she taught during her 20 years as an educator, brought joy and love to all who knew her. From teaching karate, horseback riding, aerobics, or girl scout lessons, she was a wealth of information, lovingly shaping the minds and hearts of those fortunate enough to be in her care.
Nobody knew that better than her family. She is survived by her husband and soul mate of 45 years, Bubba, her daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Austin Clark, her grandsons, Henry Taylor and Brighton Reid Clark, her sisters Andrea (Robert) Davis, Angela Perry, and Natalie Johnson, her brothers Russell (Terry) Smith, Jason (Carolyn) Butler, and Bradley Landers, Mother-in-law Sue Barr, sister-in-law Cathy (Danny) Allen, brother-in-law Tracy (Marcia) Dorris, sidekick Marie Dorris-Denton, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many amazing friends. She is welcomed into heaven by her beloved father and father-in-law, Euel Pittman and Lee Barr.
Visitation will be held Mon. June 9th from 4PM until 8PM and again on Tues. June 10th from 10AM until the hour of Service at 1PM at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home. https://www.andersonandgarrett.com
