Mary-Vondohlen-Lee-Perry

On November 4th, 2022, Mary Edith Vondohlen Lee Perry, at the age of 80, left us and went home to be with Jesus. We know she rests in greater peace and strength than she has for many years on this Earth.

Mary was born February 11, 1942, to Louis Vondohlen and Irene Hunter, the second of 11 children and the eldest daughter.

Her journey as a tireless caretaker and steadfast source of love began early. She cared for everyone in her life, for years as a loyal sister, and later as a devoted mother of 5 and adoring grandmother of 4. She was a cherished, dedicated wife to her husband, William Perry, for 53 years. Family was first and foremost for Mary, an indisputable fact that is felt by all near to her. She was a source of undeniable joy, with her contagious smile and a twinkle in her eye. Her light shines far beyond her years.

She found joy in the heavenly praises of the Gaithers and peace in the sway of a gliding chair, as she worked to make her house a home.

Preceded in death by daughter, Mary Lynn Lee; sister, Linda Neal; and brothers, Phillip, Roger and Tommy. Survived by husband, William F. “Bill” Perry; daughters, Anita (Mark) Lane, Kristy (Alex) Howard and Pam (Joseph) Lee; son, Jeff Lee; grandchildren, Hallie Howard, Perry Howard, Mikayla Lane and Nick (Tina) Qualls; sisters, Delores Anderson, Pamela Hicks and Dorothy Perry; and brothers, Glenn, Paul and Donnie Vondohlen.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. (visitation 3-7 p.m.) at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road by Pastor Wesley Waddle. Graveside service and interment will be Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. https://www.woodbinefuneralhome.com

Mary gave faithfully to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, as was her nature to always care for others.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her honor. To reach out a hand, or better yet a heart, to another is the greatest way to honor her memory.
