Marshall-Kirk-Adkisson

Marshall Kirk Adkisson, age 58, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022, after a brief illness.

Kirk was born March 6, 1963, in Richmond, CA to Bill Adkisson and the late Peggy Marshall Adkisson.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sara Elizabeth.

Kirk is survived by his wife of 28 years, Deb Adkisson of Nashville; father, Bill Adkisson; brothers, Eddie (Marsha) Adkisson, Gary (Glenda) Adkisson and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, ministry partners and friends, and his fur baby Ozzie.

Kirk and Deb had established successful careers in Nashville when they felt the Lord calling them into ministry. They relocated to St. Louis where Kirk graduated with a Master of Divinity in 2004 from Covenant Theological Seminary, while Deb continued her career in the Financial Industry. They led a church plant in Webster Groves, MO while in Seminary and were active ministry partners with Greentree Community Church.

After Seminary Kirk and Deb moved to Boulder, CO where they planted All Souls Church of Boulder. In mid-2016 they sensed the Lord calling them to plant another church, that would lead them back to Nashville and establish All Souls of Nashville, an ethnically and economically diverse church in North Nashville.

Kirk and Deb enjoyed travel and one of their favorite locations to visit was Santa Fe, NM where they were married. Kirk loved all baseball, but his team was the St. Louis Cardinals. Another favorite pastime was watching English Premier League soccer. He and Deb loved hosting parties in their home and block parties for their neighborhood. The Adkisson home was a place for all, regardless of race, social class, or religious views.

Kirk’s passion for all of life was evident in how he loved his family, friends, and everyone who crossed his path. He never judged people, their place in society, where they were, or where they had been. He was not ashamed to tell you he loved you and he wanted to hear you say it back to him. He genuinely wanted to know how you were and was there to listen and encourage you. Kirk lived the gospel in a way that was attractive to everyone he encountered. But most of all, KIRK LOVED JESUS!

A gathering of family and friends will be held from five until eight in the evening on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Midtown Fellowship, 3410 Granny White Pike, Nashville, TN 37204. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at eleven in the morning on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Midtown Fellowship, 3410 Granny White Pike, Nashville, TN 37204.
