Leona Mae Hackney Hall passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Raymond W. Hall. Her parents were Walter Roscoe Hackney and Delia Christian Hackney, of Mount Juliet, Tennessee. She is survived by her son, Lee Hall; and her brothers, Ernie and Ron Hackney.
Leona grew up in Mount Juliet where she attended Mount Juliet High School, played on the basketball team and was a member of the Beta Club. She attended Nashville Business College, where she was employed in her first job. She was a longtime employee of Barge, Wagoner, Sumner and Cannon Engineering, where she started as a secretary and retired as Administrative Services Manager. While working there she became a member of Women in Construction and worked her way through the offices to serve as president of the Tennessee Chapter.
She is a longtime member of Tusculum church of Christ and was their oldest living member. The family wishes to thank the brothers and sisters of the congregation for their wonderful love and support over the years. The family wishes to thank dear friends, Rose Nichols and Dan Geldrich Jr. for always being there for her. They would also like to thank two very special caregivers, William Warner, Jr. and April Walker.
The family requests that due to the RSV situation and the number of elderly people expected to attend, that adults only attend the visitation and the funeral.
Funeral services will be conducted by Bro. Ron Hackney on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. (visitation Thursday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road. Interment Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Family and friends from Tusculum church of Christ will serve as Pallbearers.
