Lawrence Doyle Wilson Obit

Lawrence D Wilson passed away on Saturday September 21 at his residence at Brookdale assisted living, Belle Meade, TN. With family at his side.

Lawrence was a native of Macon County Tennessee, born to Cordell and Daysie Wilson of the Enon Community in 1943 and was a member of the graduating class of 1961 at Macon County high school.

After graduation, he joined the Navy and served his tour of duty at Millington air naval base as a Medical Technician/Medic. After completing his tour of duty, he enrolled at MTSU in the Prelaw program and completed his Doctorate of Jurisprudence at Nashville Law School and began his 40 year career as an attorney in Nashville and Davidson county.

Lawrence gained some justifiable notoriety for his appearance before the Supreme Court where he won the landmark case establishing the boundaries for sexual harassment in corporate America.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his Father Cordell Wilson and Mother Daysie Wilson Little, Brothers Kenneth V Wilson, Rondal Wilson, and David Wilson.

He is survived by his wife Teresa H Wilson, Nashville TN, Sister, Charlotte Tennant of Benton AR, Tony Wilson of Rainsville AL, Daughters Lawreece Smith, Bradyville, TN Michelle Wilkerson, Franklin TN, Maria Thomas, Nashville TN and son, Seth Wilson, of Chicago IL. Grandchildren Sean Smith, Brittany Tyler, and Nicholas Wilkerson.

Lawrence will always be known for his sharp wit and dry sense of humor. He was a champion for the Native American community and will be sorely missed by family and friends.

A memorial will be held in Macon county at a future date.
