Kenneth E. Newton, age 92, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, June 21st, 2023.
He was born in Pulaski, Tennessee on October 2nd, 1930.
Kenneth graduated from American School at Chicago, Illinois and received his GED in 1963. He also attended Nashville Barber College in 1955 as well as receiving his Real Estate License from the State of Tennessee in 1963. Kenneth served his country from 1951 to 1953 in the United States Marine Corps.
He married Jewell Dean Pierce on April 17th, 1954 in Giles County, Tennessee.
Kenneth worked in glass production for cars and trucks for Ford Nashville Glass Plant for 31 years from 1957-1988.
He was a member of the UAW (United Auto Workers) and had a passion for golf, bowling, and coaching for the men’s softball team with Woodson Chapel Church of Christ.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Ruby Newton; sister, Barbara Wright; and brother, Farris Newton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Jewell Newton; daughter, Kristi Newton Blunkall (husband, Jeff); grand-dog, Bailey Blunkall; sisters, Ann Deaver (husband, Bill); Lois Griggs (husband, Roy); and his in-law’s, Ernie and Becky Blunkall.
A Gathering of Family & Friends for Kenneth will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204. A Celebration of Life Service will occur Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 3:00 pm with Ford Holman and David James officiating. A Graveside Service will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204. Honorary Pallbearers are Becky Blunkall, Ernie Blunkall, Tony Blunkall, Bill Deaver, Jeff Gordon, Roy Griggs, Larry Shelton, Joel Hogan, Tracy Harrison, Todd McQueen, Terry Tibbott, Clark Sansom, Dwayne Archibald, Paul Osborne and Alan Hundley.
