Katie-Seeds-Taylor

At her home in Nashville, Katie Seeds Taylor passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, she was 40 years old.

A beloved wife to her husband, Dylan, dog mom to her loyal silver lab, Grover, dear daughter, treasured sister, cherished aunt, and devoted friend, Katie will be remembered as a kind-hearted, creative and gentle soul.

Born in Milwaukee, Katie grew up in Fox Point and Hartland, WI, graduating from Arrowhead High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point before pursuing a career as a medical assistant in Minneapolis. In her role as Manager at Concentra in Nashville, she was a dependable, hard-working colleague who extended her genuine care to co-workers and patients alike.

Katie was extremely passionate for the arts and enjoyed making time to express herself. She always had a weekly project, whether it was designing a new necklace or creating an abstract painting of seeds sprouting. She recently immersed herself in botany, successfully growing 17 exotic flowers from around the world from seed just this year.

Shortly after Katie met Dylan in Minneapolis, they moved to Nashville to further their careers. Katie loved cooking, taking her dog, Grover, on long walks, and traveling the world with her husband, Dylan. They most recently traveled to Telluride, CO, to celebrate her birthday and to see New Year’s fireworks in the snow. Katie was looking forward to traveling with Dylan to Japan in the next year to experience temples, hot spring baths and winter activities.

Katie reliably endured life’s joys and challenges with a smile. She shared her love for others through her presence, calls, texts, and thoughtful gifts. She maintained life-long friendships across distance, never forgot a birthday, ensured her family connected on holidays, and cared for her friend’s children as deeply as she did her own nieces and nephews. Katie was an original; her friends and family mourn the sudden loss of this imaginative, considerate, and joyful person. They will forever think of her when they see sunflowers.

Katie is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Thomas Kinkelaar and Fred Seeds.

She is survived by her husband of six years, Dylan Taylor; beloved dog child, Grover; parents, Rob and Penny Seeds; brother Rob Seeds (Megan); sisters, Wendy Colton (Todd) and Christie Singh (A.J.); grandmothers, Hazel Seeds and Donna Keibler; father-in-law, Jim Taylor (Melissa); mother-in-law, Lyn Kyrc; brother-in-law, Malachi Taylor; six nieces and nephews; beloved extended family; and numerous dear friends.

A celebration of life is being planned for February 4, 2023, in Smyrna, TN. Details to follow in the coming month.
