Karen Allen Lefkovitz of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at her home.
She was born January 18, 1958 in Greenwood, Mississippi to Roy and Yvonne Wall.
She is survived by her mother Yvonne (JW) Carter, husband Larry Lefkovitz, brother Lee (Marila) Wall, daughter Lindsay Allen, stepson Nathan (Erin) Lefkovitz, grandchildren Quinn and Luke, and many special family and friends.
Karen graduated from Mississippi State University, then received a masters in education from Trevecca. She taught at Nashville Christian School, Whites Creek High School, Hillwood High School and was Assistant Principal at Pearl Cohn High School, Principal at McMurray Middle School, opened WH Oliver Middle School. She then became Executive Director of MNPS High Schools, Executive Director of HR for MNPS. After retiring in 2016, she became an HR Licensure Specialist for MNPS.
Karen was a member of the Principal Leadership Academy of Nashville, completed the Educational Leadership Learning Exchange, and traveled to China with the organization in 2010. She was a member of Bellevue Church of Christ, tutored at an after school program called the NEST, and was a member of Friends of the Temple. She loved to bake and made the best cupcakes (Kiki’s cupcakes).
