OBITUARY: Jeritza ‘Jeri’ Elizabeth Tucker

Jeritza “Jeri” Elizabeth Tucker was born in Old Hickory, TN to Warren A. (Sr.) and Gladys Y. Blankenhorn, the second of 4 children.

She graduated from West High School. She was married to Preston Tucker for 53 years until his passing. She worked for Bell Telephone company for 19 years when she left to raise her family. Later, Jeri worked at McGavock High School Cafeteria where she believed her true mission was to pray for the students.

Jeri was a long time member of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and was a youth leader. She then became a member of Victory Fellowship where she served preparing communion and bulletins for Sunday Service, greeting and teaching a generation of infants about Jesus.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Warren A, (Sr.) and Gladys Y. Blankenhorn; Brother, Warren A. Blankenhorn Jr.; Sister, Carolyn B. Cole; Husband, Preston G. Tucker Jr.; Niece, Marcy Yard.

Jeri is survived by her Daughter, Barbara (Greg) Sharp; Granddaughter, Jessica Sharp; Sister, Anne Nichol; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to the Nashville Rescue Mission or the Salvation Army. Please do not order plants on the family’s behalf.

A Gathering of Family and Friends for Jeri will be held Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204, followed by a Graveside Service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/nashville-tn
