James Russell “Russ” Gullett, age 72, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021 after an extended illness.
Russ was born and raised in Nashville, TN. He graduated from Isaac Litton High School in 1969. He worked for Metro Streets and Roads for 40 years and retired in 2007.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jane S. Gullett; sister, Rebecca Audra Gullett; brother, Bradley T. Gullett (Diana) Rivers; sisters-in-law, Wanda J. (Larry) Hardin, Sandra K. Kexel, and Barbara J. Trester; aunts, Jeanine Gullett and Margaret Gullett; nieces, Christie G. (Mark) George, Sarah J. Cone, Marissa A. Kexel, Alison N. Kexel, Kelli A. (Jake) Hein, and Mallori I. Trester; nephews, Nick (Rhonda) Gullette, Tony Gullette, Taylor M. Hardin, Walter (Heather) Strelow, and Elijah J. (Angela) Strelow); great-niece, Kayla Schildt and other great-nieces; great-nephews, Jayden Schildt and other great-nephews; and special friends, Richard Keary, Mary Keary, and Bill and Bonnie Warren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Purvis and Juanita Litsey Gullett; brothers, John Arthur Gullett and Gary Ray Gullett; sister-in-law, Alice Rose Strelow; and uncles, H. Russell Gullett and James G. Gullett.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM in Dignity Hall at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home located at 660 Thompson Lane in Nashville. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 10:00 AM. Russ will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Memorial Park immediately following.
