James Lloyd Hutton Jr, aged 90, passed away peacefully in his sleep early Wednesday, October 6, 2021.
He was born on December 1, 1930, to the late James Lloyd Hutton Sr and Noi Eugenia Fly Hutton. He was a native Nashvillian and lifelong resident. Jim graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts in Engineering and became the President and owner of Urethane Associates. He served in the Air National Guard. Jim was passionate about his faith, family, and friends. Jim had an insatiable wanderlust, that took him all over the world on countless adventures. He had a passion for the USA, literature, theater, great food, and loved a well-timed practical joke.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Marjorie Krum Hutton. He is survived by his son, Dr. James L. (Pamela) Hutton III of Columbia, TN; daughter, Christina Hutton (James) Wright of Joelton, TN; grandchildren, Lauren Miles (Joshua) Chapman, Rachel Miles (Matthew) Davis, Dr. Samuel James (Emalie) Hutton, Wesley Keith (Ashlynn) Hutton; and great-grandson, Timothy James Hutton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 pm on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Woodmont Hills Church with Rev. Jim Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Nashville with Lauren Miles Chapman, Rachel Miles Davis, Dr. Samuel James Hutton, Wesley Keith Hutton, Joshua David Chapman, and Matthew Wayne Davis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Adair Miles III and Larry Tidwell.
The family will receive friends at the Church on Saturday from 12 pm until the hour of the service at 1:30 pm.
